Informe sobre la accesibilidad de los webs universitarios en España - El Observatorio de la infoaccesibilidad de Discapnet ha publicado un informe sobre La accesibilidad en los portales universitarios en España.

«A poco más de un año para la entrada en vigor de la disposición que obligará a cumplir requisitos de accesibilidad a todas las Web de la Administración Pública y a aquellas que se financian con fondos públicos, los portales Web de las Universidades distan mucho de presentar de forma accesible los contenidos que ponen a disposición de sus alumnos.» Este informe, basado en el análisis de una muestra representativa, toma como referencia las pautas de accesibilidad WAI del W3C. Además, se ha tenido también en cuenta la experiencia de usabilidad de los propios usuarios. «El trabajo de análisis técnico realizado por profesionales expertos en el campo del diseño accesible de páginas Web se ha complementado, por tanto, con la valoración que usuarios con distintas discapacidades hacen de las dificultades que han encontrado al navegar por los portales estudiados.»

La conclusión de este estudio es que, aunque se aprecia cierta mejoría, los webs universitarios españoles presentan aún un bajo nivel de accesibilidad. Ninguno alcanza un 50% y los peor valorados están por debajo del 25%. Prácticamente todos incumplen las normás más básicas de WAI en cuanto a la codificación de las páginas, alternativas textuales a los elementos multimedia, hojas de estilo, enlaces comprensibles, etc.
